Tour Program 13

12 DAYS/ 11 NIGHTS (YANGON-MANDALAY-AMARAPURA-SAGAING-MEIKTILA-POPA-BAGAN-KALAW-PINDAYA-INLE-TAUNGGYI-THAZI-YANGON)
Day.01 : Yangon

Arrive at Yangon Airport by flight. Welcome by a tour guide and transfer to Hotel.
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Yangon.

 
Day.02 : Yangon - Mandalay

Breakfast at the Hotel.
AM. Yangon sightseeing to SHWEDAGON PAGODA world famous golden stupa. The golden dome rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60tons of pure gold. CHAUK HTATKYI PAGODA, a colossal reclining Buddha. Proceed to BOGYOKE (SCOTT) market, with time to browse among the hundreds of stalls for souvenir bargain and SULE PAGODA, a beautiful octagonal golden stupa, dating back over 2,000 years.
Lunch at local restaurant.
PM. Leave for Yangon station and take the night train to Mandalay.
Dinner with box and overnight on train.

 
Day.03 : Mandalay

Arrive Mandalay station and check in the Hotel.
After breakfast, Mandalay fullday sightseeing include visit to MANDALAY HILL, for a panoramic view of the city; SHWENAN DAW KYAUNG or GOLDEN PALACE MONASTERY, a superb example of traditional wooden building; KUTHODAW PAGODA, known as the world’s largest book from its 720 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures; MAHAMUNI PAGODA, with its spectacular Buddha image covered in thick layers of gold leaf. a visit is also make to a riverside jetty where massive teak logs are moved by buffalo power and the tour continues to craftsmen’s workshop to see kalaga tapestries being created.

Day. 04 : Amarapura - Sagaing

Breakfast at the Hotel.
After breakfast, excursion to AMARAPURA Situated about 11km south of Mandalay, Amarapura is an ancient capital of the Konbaung Dynasty. There are several interesting sighs to be seen. Amarapura was also the site for the first British embassy in Myanmar in 1795. Amarapura is noted for silk and cotton weaving and bronze casting.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Continue to SAGAING 21km south-west of Mandalay on the west bank of the Ayeyarwaddy river. Sagaing is known as a mediation center. Myanmars, all over the country would visit Sagaing for the purpose of religious retreat, where over 600 monasteries for monks and nuns are located for Buddhistic studies and meditation. And at the near by village of Ywahtaung you can see silver workers producing bowls and other silver items by traditional methods.

Day.05 : Mandalay-Meiktila-Popa-Bagan

After breakfast an early start is made for the drive, 300km by road to Bagan with rest stop at MEIKTILA. This is a scenic jorney of varied agricultural landscapes and small villages. En route visit Mount Popa an extinct volcano with its shrine dedicated to animist sprits, known as “Nat”. Stop here for lunch (box provided) for the energetic, time to climb the 777 steps to the top of the peak.
After lunch, continue to Bagan. Check-in at hotel.
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight.

 
Day.06 : Bagan

Breakfast at the Hotel.
Bagan fullday sightseeing, starting, with busy local market and continuing with visits to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples. Included are SHWEZIGON PAGODA, built by King ANAWRAHTA in the early 11th century as a religious shrine; KU BYAUK GYI, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes; ANANDA TEMPLE, with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior.
Lunch at local restaurant.
After lunch, continue sightseeing, for visit to SHWESANDAW PAGODA with five terraces, built in 1057; MANUHA TEMPLE from 1059, in the Mon style; and NAPAYA TEMPLE, said to have once been the Palace of King Manuha and Watch sunset over the AYEYARWADDY RIVER form BUPAYA PAGODA.
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Bagan.

 
Day.07 : Bagan

Breakfast at the Hotel.
After breakfast drive to Kalaw a beautiful pine clad hill station, with stop at Meiktila and picnic lunch en route.
After lunch, enjoy and early evening walking tour in Kalaw.

Day.8 : Kalaw-Pindaya-Inle

Breakfast at the Hotel.
After breakfast, continue excursion by road (100km) to small town of PINDAYA.
Lunch at local restaurant.
After lunch, an sightseeing highlights include the scenic lake and PINDAYA CAVES, unique for the thousands of Buddha images placed there by pilgrims over many centuries continue to Nyaung Shwe.
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Inle.

 
Day.09 : Inle-Taunggyi

Breakfast at the Hotel.
After breakfast, a fullday an excursion by boat on Inle Lake will include sights of the famous leg-rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing and village life. Visits are made to PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Continue sightseeing the weaving village of Inpawkhon and floating market. Continue by road to Taunggyi, capital of Shan State.
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Taunggyi.

 
Day.10 : Taunggyi-Thazi-Yangon

Breakfast at the Hotel.
After breakfast, morning visit to colourful Taunggyi market, where one can see several hill tribes, shopping for fresh vegetables and all sorts of regional products; visit cheroot making industry; and wish fulfilling Pagoda.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, drive back to Thazi and to join the night train for the return journey to Yangon.
Dinner with box and overnight on train.

 
Day.11 : Yangon

Arrive Yangon station and transfer to Hotel.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, Yangon sightseeing includes KABA AYE (WORLD PEACE) PAGODA and MAHAPASANA CAVE where sixth Buddhist synod took place. BOTATAUNG PAGODA, a famous landmark on Yangon waterfront, and NANTHIDA JETTY to see life on the Yangon river.
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Yangon.

 
Day.12 : Yangon

Breakfast at the Hotel.
Leave for airport to take the departure flight.
